Lodi Wine Country, Municipal Heart

The place

Lodi is wine country that still looks like farm country. Micke Grove Golf Links sits beside a park, a zoo, and the reminder that public land can hold a golf course without turning it into a spectacle. Valley wind, open holes, and the Central Valley light that makes even a Tuesday look like a postcard if you bother to look up.

JW’s personal notes from the round will live here — the funny moment, the people, the 19th hole — without inventing what hasn’t been written yet.
